PRE-LICENSE CLASS
Are you interested in becoming a Surety Bail Bond Agent? Columbus Bonding Center, Inc.
offers the 20-hour Pre-Licensing Class.
The tuition for the school is only three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($325.00)
for the full 20 hour course. This includes all study materials, which you may keep
and use for future reference. Everything you need for the course will be provided at
no additional charge.

PRE-LICENSE SELF-STUDY
If you are interested in becoming a Surety Bail Bond Agent and don’t have time to attend
our twenty hour class we also offer a self-study course. The tuition for this course
is two hundred ($200.00) dollars.
If you are interested in the self-study please call us at 1-800-994-2663, we will then send
you a registration. The registration must be completely filled out and returned with the two
hundred dollar fee. After the registration and money is received a pre-license self-study
book will be sent to you.
After you have studied the book and feel confident that you understand and have learned
the material you can call us to schedule your exam. You must pass our test in order to
proceed on to the other steps required for obtaining you license. This test is only done
with the self-study.
PROCESS FOR OBTAINING AN OHIO SURETY BAIL BOND LICENSE
1. Complete pre-license education requirement from an Ohio approved pre-license provider.
This can be twenty (20) hours of classroom or self-study.
2. Register and take the State’s Insurance examination at a test center.
3. Complete and submit insurance application and any supporting documentation to the Ohio
Department of Insurance. (Only after successful completion of state examination).
4. Complete fingerprint requirement for background check.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASS
Each individual who is issued a license as a Surety Bail Bond Agent shall complete at
least fourteen (14) hours of continuing education, every two years, offered in a course
for program of study related to the bail bond business that is approved by the Department
of Insurance in consultation with the Insurance Agent Education Advisory Council. Columbus
Bonding Center, Inc. offers the fourteen (14) hours needed.
Failure to satisfy the Ohio Continuing Education requirement will cause revocation of license.
To re-certify, the individual must take the examination and provide documentation that the
continuing hours of education for the prior biennium have been completed in an approved course.

SCHOOL TUITION AND FEE REFUND POLICY
COLUMBUS BONDING CENTER, INC. WILL REFUND THE FULL TUITION PAID FOR A SURETY BAIL BOND PRE-LICENSE
EDUCATION CLASS AND A CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASS PROVIDED THAT A WRITTEN CANCELLATION IS RECEIVED
BY MAIL OR FAX WITHIN TEN (10) DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SCHEDULED CLASS. NO OTHER REQUESTS
FOR REFUNDS WILL BE APPROVED. TUITION FOR PRE-LICENSE SELF-STUDY IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
